Testimonial and Personal Experience.

History of modern use for skin cancer.
In the former Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, Caucasian and light skin color farmers frequently suffered from various forms of skin cancer on the backs of their arms, hands, tops of their heads and chests. This came about because of their light dress consisting of open necked, short sleeved shirts. The rays of the sun did the rest. Untreated the lesions spread, became deeper and even resulted in death.
The first case of using kigelia which I have recorded was by a Mr Alfred Genner who was my grandfather. He was a second world war veteran who settled in Zimbabwe. An outdoors man, he was deeply suntanned and by the time he was 50 years old he had large skin cancer lesions on the back of his hand, arms and cheeks totaling an area of about 100 square centimeters. He was a keen amateur botanist, and began experimenting with various plants such as comfrey, the milk of the candelabra tree and finally the pulp of the kigelia Africana fruits. He would put a wet pad of the pulp onto the lesion and bind it up with bandaging. Within one year all traces of the cancer had disappeared. There was not even scar tissue, which supports its anti-aging properties. By word of mouth to many of his former comrades and associates, news of the properties of this plant spread. Through him, (my grandfather) I came to learn of numerous reports of complete cures of skin cancer. I never heard of any failures. Eventually some 30 years later, I myself developed a patch of skin cancer on my chest. It started of as a dark brown freckle, quickly grew in size and became a weeping sore. After a year it was about 25mm in diameter. I got hold of a kigelia fruit, cut a piece off and pulped it in a liquidizer. It made a fibrous yet slippery wet pulp which I kept refrigerated. I smeared this pulp onto the lesion and held it in place with a elastoplast. After 24 hours I repeated the treatment. The pulp had dyed the surrounding skin a dark brown. After a further 24 hours I got tired of trying to keep this pulp in place so I just smeared the pulp on the spot. I did this whenever I could remember, perhaps twice a day for 10 days and then left off the treatment. By now the lesion was already slightly smaller. In the next 2 or 3 days it dried up and within 2 weeks there was little sign of it, the brown dye having by now disappeared. 6 weeks after starting treatment there was no trace...not even a scar!
